Little '59 Tele in a Vintera Tele Custom

Just wanted to share, I switched out the stock single coil bridge pickup in my Vintera Telecaster Custom. That guitar comes with 1M pots, and the single coil was too twangy for me unless I turned the tone almost all down. After adding a ground wire and switching out the pickup, I tested it out. It doesn't exactly sound like a full sized '59 (the full sized one sounds sweeter) and doesn't sound like a single coil exactly, but it gets the treble enough to get good clean tones out of the bridge. It really cuts through the mix with some overdrive / gain.

I read reviews that with 500K pots, this pickup sounded pretty dark, and I agree! If I want some twang I'll turn the 1M tone pot up to 10, and if I want it to sound more "Strat-y" I can roll the tone to 5. I was worried it would overpower the Wide Range Humbucker in the neck, but with a small pickup height adjustment in the neck and some pole piece adjustments for the Little '59, I've got the two balanced and the middle position sounds spanktastic!

Here's picks. Thanks to everyone for such a great and helpful forum.

looks sweet and glad you like the new setup! the lil 59 can be a little dark but i really like it in most guitars. if you want the top end cut, the a 1M pot isnt a bad way to go
