Livewires

So I bought a Dave Mustaine V. Then a set of Dave Mustaine Livewires. I took my guitar to my local music go round. The guitar tech wants to leave all the existing pots and jack. The guitar had the stock crapy Dean pickups. They are basically emg copies. Will My guitar sound like it should if he does this. The Seymour live wires came with all the pots N stuff. Including a capasator.

Re: Livewires

If the pot values are the same as what's supposed to go in there, it will be fine quality wise without changing them.

Re: Livewires

Well the livewires take 100k and the others are 25k I think. If he leaves them should I at least change the capacitor ?

Re: Livewires

You're welcome. I guess 25k and 100k are both suitable for actives, maybe he has a reason for wanting the 25k. You can change the capacitor, go with the one that has the value you like if they are different.

Re: Livewires

My thought is...
If the set comes with all the parts, it is reasonable to expect you'd want all the new parts installed in your guitar. I mean, that is part of the stuff you paid for. I'd ask for the new parts and if there is an issue, go somewhere else. Or it is a good time to learn how to do it yourself.

Re: Livewires

Yea I've been to all the guitar shops in my area and none of them can ever seen to get my stuff just the way I want it. Thanks for the reply.
