Local pickup only listing on Ebay that some one may be able to STEAL!!

This one is a 1994 Washburn USA Silverado is bidding out tomorrow and has no bids at $100!!
It's in Illinois and these are KILLER guitars. I owned one a while back that looked dead on this one and know these guitars well.
The Silverado is a USA Chicago Custom guitar and was one of the Grover Jackson era guitars and was Washburns answer to the Fender CS USA Strats. Bookmatched super light real Swamp ash body, one piece Maple neck with a flat board and jumbo frets Wilkerson 100 tram locking tuners and SSL-5's. Mine was on par with stuff that is considered boutique like the Surh's and Andersons in material and workmanship . The way it's listed most will never catch what this really is and being local pickup only this thing should sell for nothing!
Here is the link and Someone here that's local to where it is can likely steal this one!

It is not local pickup only. It says if you pay his UPS shipper that is the only way he will ship though.

$100 might not hit reserve either if he knows what it is.

Washburns suck. I dont anyone but you who even plays them.

Re: Local pickup only listing on Ebay that some one may be able to STEAL!!

^^ I do as well, as does Bloodrose. So now you know at least 3, and there are probably more just on this forum.

I used to own a few MGs before I switched to Jackson, and I still own a Washburn bass.

USA Washburns are on par with just about any other USA made guitar, especially the CS instruments. Period.

Here are a few other people that would probably disagree with you:

Nuno Bettencourt
Scott Ian
Dimebag Darrell (R.I.P.)
Steve Stevens

But no harm no foul, we`re used to your opinions being somewhat "eccentric" and biased :beerchug:

Thanks Zerb! What Mg models did you have? Keepersos has a few of them too! Matter of fact, Im quite mad at myself for selling my MG104s and my MG130s are about the favorite guitars Ive ever played.

I had a 154 and a 142, and I still kinda miss the 154. :)

I see he has added that now but at first it was local pickup only.
I don't think it has a reserve if it does i sure do not see it!
The way he has it listed most will not have a clue what that one really is and it caught me at a bad time or I would be all over it.

Re: Local pickup only listing on Ebay that some one may be able to STEAL!!

154?? Was that the USA mahogany back version of the 104 from 93?

Yep, 93 and 93 only. HsH, ebony board, Mahogony w/quilted maple top, Schaller Floyd. I think they went for about 2k USD new (3500.- DM at the time, as much as a CS Jackson), and they were worth every penny... IIRC the pickups were `Duncans, but they were unmarked and I never took them out to check... Mine was Trans Red, but I think Cherryburst was also available...

It was in my master's shop on consignment, essentially brand new and unplayed, and I didn`t take long to work out a "`can I work weekends for 6 months "deal ;)

Gave it to a very well known musician while on tour in `98( at least I think it was `98) because it was like my 5th backup after I had switched to Jackson and told him to keep it for the rest of the tour if he wanted. At the end of the tour he bought it off me for what I "paid" and then some. In other words, I essentially got 2500,.DM for y time spent acquiring a guitar 4 years ago... in retrospect, I shafted myself, not financially, but still...

Sorry if that seemed confusing before the edit, 6AM over here and my brain is running on fumes ;)

Fun fact: the neck profile on my custom Dinky is that of my 154, I actually sent the neck to the factory so they could replicate it`s profile. So in a way, she' s still here. But still , If I ever find one again.... ;)

I still have several early N4s...

Re: Local pickup only listing on Ebay that some one may be able to STEAL!!

FYI no bids on the $100 min and no reserve at 5 hours out on this Silverado. I am cash strapped and in limbo because of some health issues or would jump but that would not be wise. Somebody is going to STEAL a real killer here if they bid!!

Re: Local pickup only listing on Ebay that some one may be able to STEAL!!

I called the Crystal Lake UPS Store and they said it would be about $85 to pack and ship to my zip. The Algonquin UPS Store had some horrible reviews so I wouldn't even go to them.

Here's a copy of the email I got back from the seller:

Hello. There is some wear in the body but nothing significant. All of the electronics work and the neck is straight. Just the usual amount of fret wear from playing and yes, the truss rod does work. It's in decent shape and I did enjoy messing around with it. I just don't play it anymore. The strings probably haven't been replaced in at least five or seven years. Hope this info helps. Thanks for the inquiry. John

I was going to go for it but it's not in my budget and the wife said the only way she would go for it is if I was going to flip it which I may not want to do. Good luck!
