Locking Trems

What's the price/quality comparison between original floyd rose and schaller/kahler/gotoh licenced ones?Or maybe some of kahlers originals?
What do you like or don't like?

Gotoh and Schaller are real good, can't speak for the others since i ve not tested them.

I find the Licensed Floyds always having poor quality, the metal is usually softer and some go out of tune really fast which I really hate!
The OFR is made by Schaller I believe, but had a little different feel. It was a little easier to handle. My KE2 has an OFR right now and I love it, but it never goes out of tune because of the Rockinger Blackbox which was installed. It's now a little tougher to handle but sustains better!
The Kahler is my favorite. Has the best sustain, can be handled a lot easier and always seems to stay in tune.

Also another recommender is the Lo Pro Edge from Ibanez. It's a little smaller, but it is harder to handle compared to the OFR. It's very solid though, doesn't seem to be a cheap knock-off. I like the OFR better, but some people find the LoPro Edge to better or equally good

The Kahler Steeler is a good replacement for the Original Floyd Rose.

I agree on the LoPro Edge, and even the Edge from Ibanez being fantastic, but Ibanez does not use them anymore (what a ******* shame!!, and do not sell them seperately anymore as well, and i really dislike the new Edge Pro bridges!

Yes the Edge Pros are bigger and they just feel less solid to me, but that could be a personal thing

Most of the guitarists i know feel like us Neeradj, i am doubting that it's only personal taste here... They are indeed less solid, true shame the LoPro Edge and Edge systems dissapeared... Ibanez lost the nr 1 position by this change in my opinion... Crappy market move!
