Logics amp modeling.

I was at the book store and read an interview with Taylor Swifts producer he stated that about 60% of her new album's guitars are Logics modeling amps. I have heard them and was a little surprised to be honest. I can't remember what magazine it was but the interview shed a lot of light on the process of making a record in the country music genre. Good reading if anyone cares.

Re: Logics amp modeling.

The producer's statement could mean one of two things. EITHER the guitars were recorded using the guitar amp modelling in Logic OR the guitar sounds were processed using amp modelling.

In the former case, the guitar sound is actually recorded completed dry. The amp model is an Insert Effect. In the latter case, amp modelling is being used like a re-amping signal treatment.

For background parts, it probably does not matter enormously which way the guitars were recorded. Most listeners' attention will be focused on the vocals and the lead/melodic instrument(s).

I have short term memory loss so I couldn't tell you how he did it! LOL
Anyhow, I think as long as you have some mic'd guitars in the mix most wouldn't notice the modeling.

Re: Logics amp modeling.

if they're the same ones in logic epress (I have 9 I think) I find that hard to believe. they suck, but then again so do my production skills and ancillary equipment.
