Logo question - Anyone know the brand - see picture.

I just got a plywood, setneck Les Paul copy. The only id on it it is a an h on the headstock. Underneath the covers of the pickups I found single coils, I believe these were made by Maxon for quite a few brands. I don't expect magic tone but I have been enjoying the way it plays. I am in the process of replacing the pickups and am just curious if anyone knows the brand.

Does the logo really have those stair-step features around the curves?

No. They are from where I "cleaned" the reflection off in order to do a Google image search. It is solid black with the gold lines.

These are better. There is no baby hand in the logo either.

the only brand i can think of would be hondo, but their logo was different than that

I've only seen this logo on an l6-s copy. This was about 1990. It had Dimarzios which nsistent with some Hondo's. Mine did not, it had crappy fake humbuckers.

That's going to hurt the value. Honestly, though, I don't think I've ever seen a logo like that on a guitar.

Based on the pickups in this one and the pickups in the one I saw back in the day, I think you are right. The only doubt I have is that the headstock is different. I have seen similar headstocks on Harmony Pauls. I don't know enough about either brand to know if there could have been some factory overlap, same guitar different decal stuff going on.

I am enjoying it because it has a different feel from my strats and teles. I like it. Make me want one made of real wood though. If I had the budget I would put a 59 or something in it. I have some old Schaller (Kramer factory pullouts) and an Ibanez pickup that I will put in it for now. If I get a nice Paul, I will put some Mighty Mites or something in it and sell it. It has been a fun project, I got to replace some binding, install a nut and soon tuners. It may have a truss rod rattle or tuner noise, so I will have to find out when I get the keys. Stuff I like to do.

No, both Hohner and Höfner have kept their logos for longer than electric guitars have existed. :)

I got on a tear last night to find it and couldn't find another example, but it did notice that Hondo has had quite a few different logos. As had Hyundai. One of Hondos logos were very graphical and had line work and gold ink like that.

Sorry to get you going on a failed quest. I've done a lot of searching. The closest thing I found was the Hoshino Gakki logo. It is a little different though.

Hmm haven't seen that before. I take it that it has no serial number? Typically, MIJ guitars from the mid-70s to mid-80s have the following scheme: C78xxxx, meaning March 1978 and the rest is a consecutive production number.
