Long time no see- Here's a clip

Been real busy lately but took about 30 min to do this clip of my Mutt Strat and Vox VT15 modeller

tons of noise- still using my crappy lappy mic- but oh well

Clip runs the gamut from Country to Iron Maiden.

Be kind- I'm not playing much these days :banghead:

Um.... sounds great, bro. That's one killer sounding Strat. I like the how the new Vox VT's sound.

Re: Long time no see- Here's a clip

Really liked that Highway Star part. There was also a "Man on a Silver Mountain" thing going on a bit after that that was also pretty cool. The Rory stuff was pegged. Welcome back!

Thank You Kindly Sir!

Yeah the Blackmore tones this guitar/pickup and amp model combo gets is uncanny. I was really surprised how versatile the Fralin Blues Specials are WITHOUT being a typical "vanilla" do it all set. Gets that early 70s Clapton tone, a good Hendrix and Trower, really nails that SRV/Rory early 60s strat sound, etc.

Re: Long time no see- Here's a clip

Nice........ I'm thinking of putting a set of the Fralin Blues specials in a Strat I am building. I have the Surfers & Texas Hots now, so I think these would be a nice addition!

Re: Long time no see- Here's a clip

You got some really great sounding tones there man! Those amps are pretty cool and those farlin sound great in that strat! Imo thats what a great strat sounds like ..now im wondering if i shouldnt have gone with those instead of the surfers for my strat project lol

Re: Long time no see- Here's a clip

Ya know..you can ask Erik, I don't "um" like that in normal conversation..jeebus that's annoying :banghead:

Thanks for the comments folks! :bigthumb: Def those Fralin's are money. I was a little leery I may have made a bad decision when I bought them, but I stuck with my gut feeling after hearing a few clips, and they have turned out just fantastic. The bass plate on the bridge makes that position so much more usable without having to overwind the crap out of it and lose that "vintage vibe". All three are extremely touch sensitive and super dynamic.

This strat will def make a convert of the most hardcore Gibbo guy- did for me anyway :)

Re: Long time no see- Here's a clip

Sounds fantastic. love it.

You got all the pro sounds. all sound classic and pro.

Man i'm just sittin' here listening to this stuff, and I realize the caliber of musicians on this forum. its amazing!

I adore that JCM800 Gary Moore tone you got. It's just so classic. Touch of dokken too there. Man you totally blew me away with your lead playing there too... dang.

Man i gotta get more serious in getting some lethal tones like that. I just kinda plug in and hope something good sounding comes out... LOL... man, GJ

Re: Long time no see- Here's a clip

Haven't been here for awhile, so sorry for raising this one from the dead, but thanks for the kind words fellas- much appreciated :)

Re: Long time no see- Here's a clip

Sounds great!! Playing and tones, all very tasty.... Anyone ever tell you that you sound just like Garrison Keillor?

Re: Long time no see- Here's a clip

Great tones! That Where Eagles Dare tone with SC's is awesome!
And yeah, the Blackmore and Moore tones were great too, actually all of them were.
I should get that a Valvetronix too, they seem to be great amps from what I've heard in the Internet and I've even played one a couple of times.

Re: Long time no see- Here's a clip

Thanks again for the kind words everyone! I really do appreciate it! :)

I've been messing around with a TS clone (Bad Monkey) into the VT15 and am able to get some entirely different really good tones out of the amp- I'll try and get a clip up of those as well sometime soon :bigthumb:

Thanks Kev- no- I've not heard of him before. Do you mean my voice? or my playing? :scratchch

Still have the strat??

I do! :D

Re: Long time no see- Here's a clip

Long time no see no hear :fing2: That first riffage reminds me of a great band from San Diego the Beat Farmers. Nice way to squeeze out some great tones bro. You have the vintage tone and chops fo sho. Love that little Hendrix style riff at about 4.5 minutes.
