On second thought..I'm really schizo on waht to use. I have one Red fang in it, but thinking of going American voiced, being its a Bassman-hence the Canis Major thread. I bought two Canis majors and two Red Fangs ludicrously cheap off Amazon. Never seen them that cheap since. Don't want to mix them..so...
..Im thinking of keeping the Red fang in the Bassamn Cab.after all. The '66 blackface Bassman head still needs a recap,. I have all the caps and only need the screen groid resistors butI have a huge mental block about going invasive on it. the Red Fang is Brit voiced, and of course the Bassmans used American Jensens, but by all accounts the Red fang is a great Speaker for a Tweed or Blackface Bassman.
Probably the Red Fang and a Weber or Scumback G12h or G1265 50 or 75 watt Clone is waht I'll end u[p pairing with the Red Fang in the Bassman cabinet. Still not sure,, but im quickly moving away from the smokey smooth hemp Canis Major for the old Blackface amp/cab.

Anyhoo, I think the C Rex would sound awesome with that bassman - they sound pretty great with my '69 showman. So far those, eminence wizards, and weber cali's with a paper dome have worked best for me.


Try mixing them, you may like it

I use a C-Rex in my 5e3 and really like it there as well.

The Canis Major has an alnico magnet, the Cannabis Rex has a ferrite one.

But, except for a slight difference in the resonance peak, (96hz vs 105hz), the specs seem to be identical. Why double the price? (3x at MF.)

I have one of those and it is a nice speaker as well. It also handles a lot more power if you need that aspect.
