Looking for 4-conductor 500t/496r

Hi everyone... looking for 4-conductor Gibson 500t/496r.

I could buy outright, or trade a Duncan APII set (zebra) or a Gibson Burstbucker Pro set (nickel).

Re: Looking for 4-conductor 500t/496r

Looking for something newer. I might have to bite the bullet on these new, but I'll give it a day or two longer.

Re: Looking for 4-conductor 500t/496r

hypothetically, how would you feel about converting a near-mint single-conductor set to 4-conductor yourself?
have you modded anything to the point of coil lead wires before?
new gibson pickups are expensive.

what condition are your burstbuckers in..?

Re: Looking for 4-conductor 500t/496r

The BB Pros are near mint.

I have never touched coil leads before... I would be ok with buying/trading for single-lead pups that have been converted for me, but I don't know if I'm ready to convert...

What's involved?

(agree - Gibby pups are $85 new at the cheapest)

Re: Looking for 4-conductor 500t/496r

there is a degree of risk in converting it to 4-conductor and if you've not done similar things before this probably isn't the best way to start...
i don't actually have 4-conductor cable to play with; otherwise that'd be an option.

good luck anyway man. btw, look out for guys with gibson mkIIIs; they came with 4-conductor 496Rs and 500Ts

Re: Looking for 4-conductor 500t/496r

I picked up a Zebra set on ebay years back. They split nicely in my Classic Premium Plus.
