Looking for a 7 string...suggestions?

Re: Looking for a 7 string...suggestions?

And pickups are ice cream, nothing wrong with the Blaze in my book, and Vai made them sound quite glorius. The 7620 and 7621 come with Blaze Customs in the birdge (labeled "New 7"s or something) which is a totally different animal from the Blaze. The Blaze is kinda scooped, the Steve's Special is a 6 string version of the Blaze that Petrucci originally asked for. The Blaze Custom has more of the signature DiMarzio mids.

All i know is I had an LTD m307 w/ an aftermarket Blaze in the bridge as a kid (both purchased because they were discounted like 60% off, didnt have a car or parents who cared, so couldnt really shop used gear or afford new gear at msrp), and that combo sucked.

It couldn't sound like a proper electric guitar to save its life.

Damn thing sounded.... DJENTY. Ugggggggghh. The shame!

Re: Looking for a 7 string...suggestions?

You cant bend on an evertune, does that even count as a guitar anymore??

You can when you set it up properly.
It has three zones
Zone 1 for tuning up
Zone 2 is where the note doesn’t change and you can’t bend
Zone 3 you can bend
You set it up on the cusp of zone 2 so you can bend it but it still holds tune otherwise.

A properly set up hardtail with good tuners holds tune till hell freezes over anyway

Yeah but some musicians require more as they may travel between different climates and it’s a cool invention the notion that you say Evertune sucks because you can’t bend doesn’t really apply because you can bend and if they wasn’t a need for it, it wouldn’t be popular with brands such as esp, Daemoness, Framus and a few others.
It’s the same as saying you can’t do 2 note or 3 note bends on a Floyd but it all depends on the setup.
It’s not for everyone but saying it is objectively bad just doesn’t seem to hold water

Don't argue. He has a guitar that hasn't been tuned in a year.

Back on topic, go play a bunch of them. Schecter, LTD, and Ibanez all have EXTREMELY different neck carves. If you're familiar with their 6 string offerings, you have a good idea of what you're in for, but otherwise playing a few first would be a good idea.

I like my Schecter C-7. I bought it used for $500, don't know what the new ones go for Tutuapp 9Apps Showbox not to mention the whole rest of it too!.
