Looking for a bridge HB to use with amps/fx set up primarily for single coils

Re: Looking for a bridge HB to use with amps/fx set up primarily for single coils

So many of you have recommended me the Demon that I'd basically feel stupid if I didn't try it out. I wonder why I've overlooked it for so long. Perhaps it's because to me, the name implies metal, and although I'm sure it's good for metal too, it's apparently much more than that. It's similarly misleading as calling the SH2 "Jazz".

I think the names do have something to do with it.

The Screamin Demon is not a high output wailing pickup that is one-dimensional, it was extremely versatile and, IMO, responds to the volume knob better than any pickup I've ever used.–can turn it from a growl to a purr. The Dimebucker is another pickup that I think people get caught in the name–sure it will pull off the Dimebag tone BUT it is awesome for Country and Rock besides metal.

I agree, there are a few pups who's popularity has been hurt by their name. The Screamin Demon is the most notorious one, from my experience. And it just happens to be one of the best sounding, most versatile pup for bridge and neck in the SD lineup.

Hey Zerb, maybe it would be better with a mag swap.

I couldn't agree more! Love the Screamin Demon in the bridge & neck, it can cover so many genres!
