Re: looking for a good distortion pedal..

Steve...

I have a Boss SD-1 that I was going to list tomorrow. It was modded by John Spina, who is a member of our user group. All of the major components were completely upgraded, and it sounds 100% better than it did stock. More gain on tap, and better gain. Better tone control useage and clarity. I also still have the original components.

I guess the best way to describe it is like a Keely modded pedal, but much better sounding...and I've owned both.

$70 is what I was going to ask shipped in the US. I also have a power supply that we could talk about if you needed it for a few bucks more.

I love it. but the thing is my friend, i only have 57$ US on my paypal account and 63.87$ can. Unless you would do it for that.

Re: looking for a good distortion pedal..

Spend $39 on a Boss DS-1, play it for awhile, and once you've figured out what could be better about it, have somebody on here mod it.

Or Spacecaptain's Guv'nor :D

Re: looking for a good distortion pedal..

The best cheapest pedal I have ever bought was the Behringer Ultra Metal UM100. It is almost exactly the same as the Boss Metalzone. It is a very versatile pedal. It is very popular now that people have heard how good it is. It is only about $40.00 AUS so it will be even cheaper once converted to USD.

Re: looking for a good distortion pedal..

Before I saw spacecaptain's post, I was gonna offer my Guv'nor (I bought from JeffB a few months back). It's a fantastic pedal, but since I sold my only good I don't have a huge use at the moment, and I could use the money. But you should seriously buy spacecaptain's (talk him down to $57 first :)). There are no better pedals that I have used than the Guvnor.

Thanks man (and JB_From_Hell)! You're almost making me not wanna sell it with all those compliments! It's definitely a cool pedal, but I just don't need it really. My amp and Tubulator take care of most of my needs.

Halftempted, if your half-tempted (bah doom tshhh) to check it out, shoot me a PM. Thanks again for the support fellas.

Re: looking for a good distortion pedal..

Anyone tried those Krank Amps Distortus Maximus or whatever it is called? I was curious about those.
