Looking for a lower output pup than sh-5/custom but with similar EQ

Hey i love the custom in one of my guitars, but for another one of my guitars I want something less compressed thats more expressive of my playing, BUT still has kick ass sound for metal and hard rock that still sounds aggressive and tight with high gain. I want something with a similar EQ to the custom. I do play alot of lower gain and clean stuff, but i just want to make sure it will be able to do the heavy stuff nearly as well as the custom.

WOuld the jazz bridge be the answer to this? Its going in a neck through mahogany guitar. Its mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, mahogany body with thick maple cap.

I've heard the 59 is not aggressive sounding enough and doesn't crunch nearly as well as a custom so i kind of "x'd" that off my list. The demon would probably be way too thin and bright sounding in this guitar and i probably want more bottom end also.

Thanks :)

The Super V.

This pickup was created for George Lynch because he wanted a more expressive sound and let the guitar speak. So it's based on a low output vintage paf design but more agressive with improved midrange, clearer under high gain. T
he basic idea is: High output pickups tend to "hide" the true tone.
So here, the sound comes from the guitar, the gain from the amp.

It's not similar to the Screaming Demon at all. it was created to match dense woods like Mahogamy and Maple.

I didn't try it (yet) but it matches your description i think.
You can order it trough the custom shop.

The '59b would definitely fill these needs.

It's a really underrated bridge pick-up. It bites, has definition, just very nice.

man i don't know i absolutely hated the 59 neck in every guitar its been in, and i've heard people say many times that the 59 bridge is too loose in the bottom end and doesn't have alot of crunch.

The '59 bridge is nothing like the neck...

The neck can be too boomy in solid mahogany guitars, that I'll admit, it takes a lot more thinkering to get it to sound right.

But the bridge is nice tight and crisp in the guitars I've had it in. It being an A5 you get a nice bottom and some clear highs. It didn't/doesn't sound loose to me at all. It's tight enough for me (I've played lots of metal with it without a problem). It's much clearer than the neck and can get more aggressive too, due to the crispier high-end...
