Looking for a new distortion pedal

I've got a Peavey Invective 120. I love the gain/ high gain tones I get on Ch 2 & 3, but Ch. 1 I have found, is better for much more than just a pristine clean. With 2 effects loops on the amp, I use the 2nd for effects with Ch 2 and 3 and I use number 1 loop for effects with the clean channel. The clean channel it turns out, is an AMAZING pedal platform. This makes an already WAY versatile amp something more like and endlessly versatile amp. Using the 1st channel for straight up cleans, but also as a pedal platform essentially provides me the ability to have or otherwise create any tone I can think of in one single amplifier.

The Invective certainly can do classic rock tones on its own, but I think I can sculpt something great using pedals in ch 1. So what I am trying to figure out at present is which distortion pedal to buy in order to get some more Marshall-esque or otherwise British sounding tones.

I have been checking out a few options so far like Wampler's Pinnacle Deluxe and Plexi Drive Deluxe, Bogner's Exstacy Blue & Red pedals (the smaller versions), and Fender's Full Moon Distortion.

Any other suggestions, or anybody have any experience with any of the pedals listed? Thanks

I have the Pinnacle Deluxe and it will get you there, just keep in mind with that pedal, the low end has a lot of sag in it. Its a "modded plexi" so its bright. What is nice about the PD is it has the TS type boost that works independently from the main drive.

If you are thinking Marshall with a touch more modern flare, Wampler's Sovereign will get you there, that probably sits more along the lines of a JCM 800-900.

Also there is the JHS Andy Timmons pedal which I believe is JHSs version of the Pinnacle Deluxe

Thanks for the replies and suggestions everyone. This is a situation in which the solution (because I definitely came to one) was about as non-typical as it gets for me, but at the same time, it was simple and got me where I was looking to be in only the best of ways... You see... As I was looking around for good amp in a box options to get me some Marshall-esque tones, it just so happens I ran head first into a deal, which was really more of a steal, on an actual Marshall amp. So, I began this thread intending to get Marshall tones, and I have since acquired a Marshall DSL100HR amplifier.... I think it goes without saying, PROBLEM SOLVED.

So thanks again to everyone who posted their suggestions. They are always much appreciated. I did wind up acquiring a pedal since I started this thread as well, and a dirt pedal at that. I purchased a REVV G3 Preamp/OD/Distortion pedal. Though the reason for this was that I needed a preamp specifically. I recently bought a Two Notes Torpedo CAB M+, and among the many things it does, preamp is one of them,, only it's only a clean preamp. This unit is also a DI WITH IRs. So I can essentially carry the CAB M+ and my pedalboard, and ONLY these two, and effectively gig with it. If its a smaller place, or I just don't feel like bringing an amp and cab along regardless of the size of venue, with these, it is not necessary. I can use the clean preamp of the CAB M+, or the G3 preamp pedal for my higher gain stuff, and the rest of my pedal board so that it's business as usual with effects. It's pretty sweet the possibilities that present themselves after picking up a relatively unassuming looking unit like the CAB M+. For such a little device, it sure does a WHOLE LOT OF STUFF.

The main reason for the CAB M+ for me was initially a straightforward recording solution which would allow me to use IRs without having to be online. It provided that in spades, as it gives you the ability to carry 32 different cabs saved to the unit, which can then be accessed using only the CAB M+, but that's not all, you can also use up to 2 different mics at once, as well as change the position of both mics independently. I'm pretty sure you can even run 2 cabs at the same time and change the mics and their positions on both cabs, but I haven't gotten quite that far yet, as I am learning something new anytime I use the CAB M+ and trying my best to get one thing down before moving on to the next. Along with the 32 cabs tho, there are 99 presets, each of which you can use to create a cab/mic setup exactly the way you want, including mics, positions, the type of room, and other effects too, like compressor, and an overall sound enhancement, an EQ, as well as the power amp (in which you can choose any tube type for your set of tubes), and then the preamp and a noise gate out front of everything. Each can be adjusted to taste or turned off completely (like the preamp when I want to use the G3, because you don't need two preamps)

I tried to include pics, but I SD Forum and pics just don't jive. I even downloaded a downsizer to use to resize pics specifically for this site, but that didn't work either. Frustrating, because this was my favorite forum until I started having these issues every time I go to include pics and get nothing but "error" messages anymore. I've had to find another place to start sharing. Would be great if this issue wasn't. Hey, in a perfect world right

You can host pics at an image hosting site. SD is aware of the image posting issue. I don't have a date for a fix yet, though.

Thanks for a heads up. Its good they at least know about it. This is one of the few great forums out there that is in no way affiliated with another not so great forum I will refrain from mentioning. But part of the forum experience is sharing pics of our gear after we acquire, mod, fix, trade, swap it, etc.... And after all, there is the whole "pics or it didn't happen" thing too. Anyway, hopefully SD gets it figured out so we can all get to enjoy that as part of the platform here.

They certainly know, and I more than anyone, want it to be fixed. I love posting pics.
