Looking for a new guitar!

I'm currently in the market for a new guitar and was wondering if you guys had any recommendations. I've already got a Godin LGT (no longer made) that's kind of a cross between a les paul and a tele - hum-single-single configuration, maple body, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, and floating trem. It pretty much covers most of the cleaner stuff, classic rock, and blues tones, so I'm looking for more of a modern rock/metal guitar - dual humbuckers, set or thru neck, mahogany body, and a rosewood or ebony fretboard. I never use the tremolo, so a fixed bridge or string-through-body is a must. I'm also not a fan of the shorter 24.x" scale lengths as they tend to lack the tightness of the longer scale necks.

Oh, yeah...and I've got around $800 to spend. :)

Here's a couple of guitars that I'm considering:

ESP LTD H-1000
Ibanez SZ (not sure what the difference is between the various SZ's)
Schecter C-1 Classic

Can anyone vouch for these guitars or have other recommendations?

Thanks!

Re: Looking for a new guitar!

definitely play all of them if possible, but i have an ibanez sz. its a really good guitar. the one i have comes with ibanez/duncan pickups that are actually pretty good.

The schecter classic is a amazing guitar for the price, but you can get bad ones and good ones. I've played one before and it was a great sounding guitar, but Iv'e heard the finishes vary from guitar to guitar.
