AFAIK, yes, they used Duncan SSL-2s until some time in '94

haha ... this was the original question that brought me to the forum - how do I tell whether or not I have Duncans in my Legacy? I don't know if I ever got a really good answer, other than, "you have to look at them", or something like that

Loudriver, another guitar that could be worth checking out is the Music Man Silhouette. All the Music Mans I've played have had very nice necks, and these seem to be a very good strat-style guitar...

I can second the Texas Special Strat -- my surf pearl alder/maple TX Spl has a great full C-shaped neck and very resonant body. It's one of the best Strats I've ever played and the blow out price last year was irresistable.

I have a Fender American Series Alder Strat with Surfers in it, and IMO, i do not see how it could be any better.
