Looking for a specific type of a guitar pick - need help

Hi everybody,

I'm looking for a specific type of a guitar pick cause it feels really good and suits my picking perfectly.
What's strange is I haven't seen any picks like this before. It looks like it's a 3-ply (made of 3 layers of material) - two outer layers and a white one in between.
The pick I have is really old but I can make out it used to have 'Rising Force by D'Andrea USA' printed on the front side.
Unfortunately, I can't find anything on those on the D'Andrea's website or the internet for that matter.

Here's a picture I made of it and let's hope someone knows something about those - material, model, brand, where can I get such from - anything :)

Not sure, but it looks pretty cool. I guess I'd suggest checking the D'Andrea website for their "Contact Us" section and see if you can email or call them. :dunno:

This looks familiar to me. I have seen them long ago. But I don't know what it is.

Rising Force would likely indicate some kind of relationship to Yngwie Malmsteen.

from this site. http://pickcollecting.presspublishe...steen-guitar-picks-part-1-the-1983-1985-years

Above: YJM's MARCHING OUT pick. Center pick was signed by Yngwie during the G3 '03 Tour.

Additionally, there is a pink oversized plectrum from 1985. The colour of the pick is hot pink and it has gold foil print, not black as it appears in the photo above. At the moment it´s not known if this is a tour plectrum or a promotional item. The print on the front reads: Yugwie J. Malmsteen´s Rising Force MARCHING OUT. Note that Yngwie´s name is misspelt on the pick, as the second letter in Yngwie is a u instead of an n. The backside of the pick is blank.

Hey, thanks for the responses, guys. It does look cool, but it's even better when used.
It is around 1.00 mm but it feels heavier than most of the heavy rated picks and still it does bring out much more presence to the tone since the material is kind of different.

@BriGuy1968
Thanks for the advice - I've already mailed D'Andrea so let's hope they will tell me what it is. I would call them for sure once I figure out which day I can afford staying up really late (cause of the time zone thing) :)

@kherman
Thanks, I had already found out about these, but they aren't the same.
My pick is not actually a triangular one but rather a standard 351 shape. Also, the font is different and the color's more like dark pink than hot pink.

Here's a comparison photo with a D'Andrea current production 1.00 mm pick (I ordered some of these cause I thought this was the same model at first)

Not sure about the layers setup, but those triangular pucks are still being made by a bunch of manufacturers. Prowl the web a bit, I'm sure you can find several different brands to try out.

But I'm not looking for the triangular ones :)
I'm trying to figure out what is the one that I currently have (dark pink in the picture above) and hopefully where can I get more like it.

The center line may not actually be a different material, but rather an effect of the die-stamping process where the two halves of the die came together to punch it out.

If you can score a caliper to measure the thickness.....

@DrNewcenstein
I don't know about the material in between but the way the pick actually wears off suggests those are 3 separate layers.
Unfortunately I don't have calipers, but placed on a table and compared to two other picks it feels it is thicker than 1.00mm and thinner than a 1.21mm, so I my best guess is it's around 1.14mm (based solely on my knowledge on pick thickness standards)

@Rand-O-Monium
I don't think this is the correct material... :)
