Looking for affirmation... JTM45 all controls on "10"

Re: Looking for affirmation... JTM45 all controls on "10"

I'm running a similar setup. JTM45 with a 2x12 cab. My difference is that my cab is an open backed bluesbreaker style and I did it by design instead of need. I like the more breathy tone of the openbacks.

I just never thought that "Boominess and Mud" would be a greater problem with a openback 2x12 compared to a closed 4x12...

The main problem is with neck pickup rhythm sounds... I feel like I need to stick a Jazz SH-2N in my PRS DGT.

But, I never had a problem with my Egnater 4x12 loaded with Greenbacks.

The air pressure in the closed 4x12 help control the cone movement resulting in better articulation.

I ran my Metro Bluesbreaker with the mids dimed and the bass all the way down. I think these amps live in the mids.

Have you tried dialing in the amp brighter for your neck pickup and then using the bridge tone control to compensate?

Yeah, I am beginning to get all kinds of ideas now...
Including the new PRS DGT wiring as of 2012... Mine is a 2008.
They have added resistors to the Coil Taps 1.1K and 2.2K for Neck and Bridge.
News to me...
I'll try this before putting a SH-1 set or SH-14 in...
I understand for sure closed back has more articulation... a dual cabinet would be nice.

^^not sure why your most recent posts have identified things other than the cab as the issue! You really dug your tone with a 412, so changing pickups is not gonna get you the tone of a closed back cab, that is like comparing pedals to amps...

So, I have had to switch to an open back 2x12... from my beloved 4x12... w/ Greenbacks.

I have really been fighting to get my tone... I used to run everything pretty standard.
