Looking for an economy amp (not me!)

Hey, the guitarist in my band is looking for an economy amp and I'm trying to lead him towards tubes. his budget is under 350(USD). He was gonna try to get the same amp as the other guitars (a Kustom Quad 65. It ain't bad, but, it ain't that great, either. The other guitarist just has BAD tone) So, I was telling him about the Sovtek Mig heads and such. I'm thinking he should try to get a Sovtek Mig-60 head and a 2X12 of somekind. But... I don't know for sure. We need a lot of headroom, cuase we're LOUD. Any suggestions?

tell him to go to the guitar store and get something that makes him happy. Tubes does not = happiness. Modeling amp could be a great start. you'll get more for your money.

Check out the Mig 50. The Mig 60 was a little dry for my tastes and didn't have near as much gain as the 50.
