Looking for an electric guitar. Help me!

Re: Looking for an electric guitar. Help me!

I second the Hagstrom Viking Deluxe. I have one and I can vouch for how wonderful they are.

Re: Looking for an electric guitar. Help me!

Since this thread is probably a joke anyway, might as well suggest the Yamaha Jimi Hendrix model.

It's not really a joke though, so.....the suggestion is appreciated though. :)

Re: Looking for an electric guitar. Help me!

+Epi Sheraton - thick center, slinky sound, easy to play- like a semi hollow LesPaul
Godin anything is great.
i also enjoyed the Schecter I tried ( unplugged)
I also owned a Washburn J-6 ( but thats fully hollow)- absolutely love it-plated like butter, versatile..
The Gretsches in that price range are only so-so- could use more tone character.
Any used Guild would be great.

If you have an Epi dealer, def try the Sheraton before the others. But Godin Is prob the best, then Washburn & Guild.( or anything that starts with De or D' ).

Seth Lover or Antiquitys pickups: MAJOR plus!

Yeah i've been eyeing the sheraton and casino both. I've never played a godin in my life though. They look pretty impressive. If their sound is half as good, i might wanna check them out as well.

Re: Looking for an electric guitar. Help me!

I'd look at an Epiphone Dot. Reasonably priced and should maintain a certain amount of purchase value.

Re: Looking for an electric guitar. Help me!

I've loved every Schecter i've played, but could never bring myself to buy one. Love the burst maple top on that though.

Any reason? I prefer LTD's over Schecter's but I saw that one used for $375 w/ case.

Re: Looking for an electric guitar. Help me!

I really dig the Ibanez Artcore, I played one just the other day when I was picking up some strings and picks and I will say it sounded great, I had plugged straight into a Fender HRD and it really growled when I pushed it and sparkled when I let up... I also played a Epi dot, which in this particular case did not impress me much but I believe it was the individual sample not the model as a whole, was just a really dead guitar...

Also Schecter was brought up as well, I don't think you should look past them either, they make great guitars for the money and their Semi-Hollow model is pretty gorgeous (I have never played that particular model though myself but others I have played have always played and sounded great.)

Re: Looking for an electric guitar. Help me!

I've decided to chip in the extra dollar and get a Gretsch Tennessee Rose.
