Looking For Articulate Humbuckers For Blues/Classic Rock

I'm looking for articulate humbuckers that'll really bring out the nuances of my playing, and possibly show any flaws in my style so that I can work on that and become better. I'm really just looking for something that's really clean and clear, and will let my playing shine. The way I fret notes, pick attack, and I also want something that responds well to changes in the guitars controls. I want something that'll sing and sustain when I play slow blues, but will also crunch when I play classic rock. I've been considering the FRED and the Jazz. Maybe the Full Shred neck and possibly the JB. Am I going in the right direction? All help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Oh ya, forgot something. The guitar will be an alder body, maple neck, rosewood board guitar. Pretty much a double fat Strat.

You just described the Jazz set to a T.

That was what I was thinking. Something for classic rock, but can also do slow Jeff Beck type stuff with it when I feel like it.

It can even go beyond that and do some metal type stuff. Just listen to JOLLY's clips.

Hmmm, someone around here is running a Jazz set. Maybe he'll chime in. The Jazz neck is generally the pickup I turn to when I want clarity in a pickup. The Screamin' Demon is also an articulate pickup with a sharp attack, but I'm not sure I'd use it to play the blues in the bridge position.

You really want something that is unforgiving? Seriously, buy a telecaster. Nothing makes you work harder than vintage fret wire, a 7.25" radius, and that ashtray bridge with three barrel saddles. I don't imagine that is an option, though. ;)

edit: ErikH is must faster on the draw than I. I guess it's Jolly running the Jazz set.

I know that. Lots of metal players use 'em. Dave Mustaine comes to mind first. I don't really do metal anymore, though.

That could be an option, but I want something hum cancelling. Any Tele stacks that'll do the trick?

I was really considering a Tele, but wasn't sure if a Tele stack would work.

Hehe, the " ;) " suggested I was kidding. Part of me thinks that every guitar player should have a Tele at some point in his life. :)

Dave uses/used the Jazz neck. JOLLY uses the neck AND the bridge in a Les Paul and it kills.

I know, but I'm seriously considering it. I just don't want the single coil hum.

What happened to Jolly's soundclick page? It keeps telling me "404 Not Found" or whatever. Is Soundclick down right now or something?

Thanks, Erik. The Jazz is incredibly clean sounding. I don't think I've ever heard chords that clearly under high gain before.
It's impressive. I've been using the Jazz neck myself for years and love it. It's my go to neck pickup every time.

What kind of pots/caps would you guys recommend with the Jazz?

sounds like an amp issue more than a pickup issue?????? Any vintage style humbucker and a class A amp will give you what you are looking for.
