Looking for good guitar under $1000

Re: Looking for good guitar under $1000

If you require a Floyd, check out a used Peavey Wolfgang. Bith the Standard and the Special model can be had on Ebay for well under $1000.

I don't really need a floyd but my other guitars have tune-o-matics and looking for something different so thats what im looking at and found that schecter has a floyd model with duncan designed so that might be my ticket.

I'm suprised no one has mentioned this:

Fender now has a Highway 1 Showmaster model with a Floyd and 2 humbuckers! I haven't played it yet, but I have played the Highway 1 Strat, and think it's great! With a street price of only $600, you can get one, and have plenty left over for other necessities, like a killer OD pedal (Fulltone :D), solo boost (Fulltone :D :D), or distortion pedal (er ... Fulltone! :D :D :D)

Yep I think Twiliht nailed it yet again, Ive played one in a store and it was killer IMO, Unfortunatly though i couldnt use the Floyd because they dont leave the Trem arms on them in the store but none the less it was killer... IMO a better guitar like suggested above the Wolfgang is IMO the best guitar ever, Its very versatile and to me just feels perfect..

also consider buying second hand, but try to avoid ebay if possible

A used USA Jackson. Can be had easily for under 1000, usually loaded with either duncans or EMGs, Hardtail or Original Floyd / Kahler bridge.

Re: Looking for good guitar under $1000

I stand by my original post, but I'd also like to add that Twilight is exactly right.... Fenders are great values. Awesome guitars for the money. The Highway 1 HSS Showmaster is absolutely worth checking out.

Re: Looking for good guitar under $1000

Well the floyd rose schecter is high on my list. In my area its hard to find good used equipment. The only good guitar place is Daves and while i do love the place they are mainly the upper end model stuff of fender gibson and prs. Although every now and again they get something up there thats interesting.

Re: Looking for good guitar under $1000

Checkout A Yamaha AE620 Its a real nice looking lespaul style guitar with bookmatched flame maple top, and it has a JB in the bridge. Also it has one lots of reviews i.e guitar player, guitar one etc. It dosent have a floyd rose though. Good value.

If you can get a hold of the old PRS Santana se's they are great and they have a tremelo model (not Floyd though) Theyre much better than the new ones and they look great amazing for the price.

Good Luck

Dude, I was looking real hard at this guitar before I bought a C-1 Classic. Now that I see this deal, I'm almost jonesin' for the Artist. It's more down to earth looking than the Classic, but is basically the same guitar 'cept for the neck-thru vs. set-neck features. I'm sure it plays superbly.
What a beauty!! That's a great price, IMO. Can't go wrong for $500 for what I feel to be a highly underrated guitar.
Might as well snag yourself up one of these while you're at it:
