Looking for Pick-up Recommendations (Epi LP)

Hi guys,

I'm not looking for a "best" type response here. I'm looking for good quality sound clips/video examples and/or real world experience.

I recently purchased an Epiphone Les Paul Pro Plustop. I love the way it plays and the way it looks. It even sounds decent... However, I would like to replace the pick-ups and get a little extra magic in the sound.

I play mostly English/Texas blues, southern rock and a little hot country. I'm running an Egnater Tweaker 15, stock head and cabinet.

I have a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates (being a huge Gibbons fan) in my MIM Strat and love it.

So, do I just get a set of Pearly Gates for the LP or is there something else I should consider? Seth Lover's? '59's? Antiquities? Oh, I'd also like to stay in the price range of the Pearly gates.

Thanks for taking the time to look.

Not even gonna post sound clips.

You need an A2P in the neck, and a PG in the bridge. That will provide you with the full range from Clapton Womantone and Allmans in the neck to ZZ Top and your Hot Country in the bridge. Both on will give another great sound that is right in the middle, yet the fat sweet will still be there, with great cut.

I love the PG neck. its a superb pickup.
I dont think you can go wrong with a set of PG's. Especially as you already know you like them in your strat. A les paul is the perfect home.

I play the same styles you do my friend! I use Railhammers in my Heritage H150. Very clear, yet they have all the gritty flith I need when playing Gary Moore or Leslie West.
