Looking For Suggestions (Vintage sounding Singles)

What I'm looking for is options that sound similar to a Fender Texas Special or an EMG-SAV.

I'll be needing a neck and middle pickup. There's a JB in the bridge right now.

Re: Looking For Suggestions (Vintage sounding Singles)

I'd suggest Duncan Antiquity Texas Hots. My very favorite Duncan Strat pickups...and the favorite of many here. Maybe 5% stonger, chunkier mids and 5% less ice picky than vintage Strat pickups. Lew

Yup.

The Texas Hots are excellant. There's certainly nothing wrong with the SSL-1 and SSL-2.

Love the SSL-1's! They are brighter and glassier tho...more like a real alnico 5 vintage Strat pickup. In some ways I prefer them to the Texas Hots...they are a little bubblier and glassier for certain rythym and chord melody type stuff: like Hendrix on Little Wing or SRV doing Riviera Paradise. The Texas Hots will do those tones beautifully too tho! Lew
