Looking for that tone

Re: Looking for that tone

I have a humbucker in the neck of my orange strat copy that firebirdguy72 made. It's about 9.5k with miss matched coils and an A4 magnet. This strat is not very resonant, the body is made of lucite or something. It tends to be a bit bright without much bottom. But that pickup gives it nice singing leads with just the right blend of bottom, mids and top end. Think "Goldilocks" tone.

Re: Looking for that tone

Lol, good idea, but right now I just want to get a better tone from my Tele. thanks though : )

I'll say it again, Telecaster Fender Custom Shop twisted pair pickups and a SD pickup booster. That will give you the real mans Tele tone. If you want to take it to the next level put a four way switch that allows you to play the neck and bridge together in series or parallel...you'd be amazed what great tone you can get from this little mod.
