I know! I'm still not 100% set on getting the Timmy... That Voyager is a really awesome pedal!! :)

Yeah I've heard good things about them. This might sound really stupid, but I just cannot stand the looks of those Dano pedals. I just don't think I want one of them on my board. Lol

Re: Looking for trasparent OD and low gain Distortion

played my Helium last night...i just can't bring myself to get rid of it to fund a Voyager...it's too good! the videos on Youtube don't do it justice...they are usually dialed in with more gain than i use it for...i have it set at a lower gain that is more of a boost setting that adds just a bit of extra "flavor" to my sound.

maybe i'll do a demo of it at lower gain settings?

this one has it in it...but it's not really showcasing it either...but you get the idea of where i like to keep it.

That sounds much better than the demos on Youtube! The demos just make it sound really gritty.

Re: Looking for trasparent OD and low gain Distortion

My vote goes in with the Barber LTD. I have the Barber 1/2 Gainer, which is basically all versions of the LTD in a single, two channel box. It's the best OD I've ever heard. If you want that "pushed Fender Blackface" sound, this is the pedal for you.

it's can be a lot smoother and lighter in person with the gain rolled back from about 1:00 oclock on...if the amp is set to clean as well.

the thing i like about it most...is that it can add some hair to my tone IF i want it to! some of the lighter drives don't have that ability/versatility.

i have the ltd as well and think timmy is more transparent, i love them both but i have two timmys and only one ltd. i had the ltd sr version with flatter mids but i like the regular ltd better.

the dano pedal is a cheap copy of timmy and sounds like a cheap copy of timmy when compared side to side.

heres the list of dealers:

I'll check out some more demos of it! :)

Ok cool. Thanks for the link!

Who knew it would be so hard to pick a pedal??? Lol

Re: Looking for trasparent OD and low gain Distortion

The Morning Glory is pretty transparent or try a Klon Centaur clone. JHS are pretty good but expensive. You can get a Klon clone for about $50 more than a Morning Glory.
