Looks like the Marshall JVM forum is no more.

Re: Looks like the Marshall JVM forum is no more.

Update: After seeing the 20w combo in action at NAMM, demoed by Marshall... ehhh. I dunno. I'd need to spend some time with it to see if i can really get it to give up the goods.

The demo seemed to be touting it as a clean to mid-crunch pedal platform. It reminded me of sort of halfway between a modernized JTM45 and a JMP 50w but without being as cool or gutsy as either one.

Like I said, I'm just not sure.

I saw that demo too.
I was undeniably unimpressed.

Re: Looks like the Marshall JVM forum is no more.

There's gotta be a joke in here I'm missing.

Unless I’m the one who’s missing the joke.

LOL - it's funny reading this thread, cuz the HotRod Deluxe was a joke even back in the 80's.

Still, so many were fooled by the name... seems they still are, considering Fender actually made a reissue of this turd.

But perhaps I am, at times, too easily pleased.

OK, I thought it was just me being a snob.

On paper the amp looks like it could be awesome.

But in person I was just "meh" when I heard it. It's not BAD. But it couldn't been great. And it's not, and that makes me sad.

I just watched another demo posted in another thread here....I think I’ve changed my mind on this amp. Let me try to link it here so you can see it.

Here it is:

I do wish it was a 2 channel amp but....

update - JVM forum not dead (?)

The report of my death has been greatly exaggerated!

Bit by bit the forum is being rebuilt.

Today I have been setting up the email service for membership, notifications etc.

The previous hosters set up filters whick blocked our emails for 6 months, without letting us know.

Re: Looks like the Marshall JVM forum is no more.

Awesome. Not many amps out there with their own forum! JVM rules!

Re: Looks like the Marshall JVM forum is no more.

Any ideas how to register? I can’t seem to get to a registration page.

Re: Looks like the Marshall JVM forum is no more.

The forum design is a bit weird, but here goes:

Let me know if you have trouble registering. When I registered a year or so back, I actually needed to contact the forum owner on FB to have my account validated. I dare say that the place has not been run well in recent years, so it is rather quiet, but it is still an invaluable resource, and at least a few people are still watching it.

Re: Looks like the Marshall JVM forum is no more.

Every time I click the Register button, it just reloads the same login page.

Re: Looks like the Marshall JVM forum is no more.

Ahh, I see. The next step involves social media, so I've taken the liberty of PM'ing you, so as not to clog up this place.
