Los Lonely Boys Henry Garza

This guy absolutley rips it up on his Strat . I know there was a thread here awhile back about the "Boys" which prompted me to get their CD which is great. I recently got a live recording of theirs from 2003(with a lot of tunes not on their debut) and it just drips of Stevie Ray Vaughn influences. I`m not gonna say Henry Garza is the next Stevie Ray but he and his band of brothers are just what the music scene needs!

Re: Los Lonely Boys Henry Garza

i'd love to see LLB and Indigenous tour together .. really amp up the blues rock genre ... then Mato and Henry trading licks for a raved up encore

both great bands

Re: Los Lonely Boys Henry Garza

yup...just what the music doctor ordered...

MUCHO MOJO!!!

Re: Los Lonely Boys Henry Garza

I heard them in a bar here in Memphis during a blues festival a few years ago, before they released their CD. They were great -- best act I heard all night. I've been meaning to pick up the CD -- I'm glad it's getting air play.

Re: Los Lonely Boys Henry Garza

I posted a thread about them a few weeks ago. They are quite refreshing. I have only heard the one song "Heaven" and it is quite refreshing and their tone is just lovely to me. I gotta have that cd.
I wonder what pups he uses. Does anyone know anything about his Strat's specs?

Re: Los Lonely Boys Henry Garza

I'll bet he uses high action with heavy strings.

I saw them perform on tv a couple weeks ago, amazing live act.

Re: Los Lonely Boys Henry Garza

he claims that uses a basically stock MIM strat strung with 12s and tuned to Eb .. only mod to the guitar is a new nut to accomodate the string gauge

super tone, but a tad to heavy on the wah wah

Re: Los Lonely Boys Henry Garza

Unfortunately these guys are too talented and too musical to get alot of airplay. Whatever happened to music and melody? Light rock/pop or metal bands can be musical and melodic, but most of the stuff on the radio sounds like a poor quality metronome or beat box. Or, it's another Mariah Carey wanna-be with about 10% of her talent.

Henry's guitar looks like a stock sunburst '62 reissue, but I don't know if the pickups are Fender or not.

Re: Los Lonely Boys Henry Garza

They sound real good and they've been getting a load of airplay lately which is cool. I hope you guiys that are digging them will check out some Los Lobos, great guitar playing and songs.

Re: Los Lonely Boys Henry Garza

His MIM strat is a reissue model, not one of the standards. He also uses a Marshall JCM2000 through a Bogner 2x12, and often a Fender Twin as well. Great music, all three are great players. A nice mix of SRV, Santana, and Los Lobos.

Re: Los Lonely Boys Henry Garza

I believe Tattoed Carrot is correct. On the gear page of their fanclub site it says his sunburst Strat is a vintage reissue and from the pictures it certainly has bigger frets than a Standard Mexican Strat.

Re: Los Lonely Boys Henry Garza

no one really know's what his pink/red strat is, but he's had it since he starting clubbin. the sunburst is a MIM Classic 60's. A new nut and 1500 frets are the only mods. I dont hear as much SRV in his playing as I do Santana and Carlos Montoya.

Re: Los Lonely Boys Henry Garza

I was in Walmart and seen their CD and bought it. I love it! Then I was watching CMT and their song Heaven showed. Their style is a mix of all kinds of players. Sometimes I even hear a little Jeff Healey's sound.
