**Low E String Distorts On Clean?**

Hi

Wonder if anyone can help me

My Bass E String (6th String) distorts when plucked hard on my clean channel on my AVT-100 using the bridge pickup.

I have lowered the pickup and pole pieces as I thought that this would resolve it however it is still doing it...

My Neck Pickup doesnt distort so It cant be due to the bridge height

Any ideas?


They are Dimarzio Super 2

Try replacing the string.

Don't worry about cleans; you're using Dimarzio's.

1. Raise the pickup
2. Change the strings
3. Crank 'er up
4. ???
5. Profit!

You either need more clean headroom from your amp, lower output pickups, or it's possible that the string gauge you use is too big. Those would be the 3 main culprits.
