Low tuning and Floyd Rose

My band plays in C tuning, thought i'd tune my second guitar down as well, but it has a Floyd, and the claw screws are already screwed pretty far in due to the BBB Block. Since I'll need heavier strings, should I get heavier strings as well?

You could probably get away with using 11s maybe 12s if you want a stiffer feel but you might have to add another spring or try some higher tension springs. Just make sure you adjust your neck properly when making the switch.

more springs will increase spring tension, and is an acceptable option when the claw is as far back as it can go. Once you put on another spring though, you'll probably need to back the claw out a bit.

Go with 12s if you're gonna be in C standard. They feel almost like 8s then theyre that loose. Rockstar is right you also have to set up the neck. Yes heavier strings usually means more springs to help the bridge keep its float and firmness. I think about one more string should do the tricks if you switch to 12s.

12 gauge in C standard is comparable to 09-46 in E. You won't need a lot of heavy springs because there won't be that much string tension. 3 or 4 standard springs should suffice.
