I thought the BJr had too little headroom. It starts to thicken up really early on the dial.
I kinda liked the Blackheart 5W I used to own. It had a very even tone, a lil bit "flat" feeling. It felt like in between a british and an american amp. I put in an Eminence Screamin Eagle and got pretty good amp. Plenty punchy, not too much gain, and not too loud either. It's still clean up until about 4.5 or 5 out of 10 on the volume, which by then is too loud for an apartment.
