Lowering a 3-way Strat switch...?

Any ideas?
It sits up too high coming thru the p/g,can I use something to countersink it some?
Got a bunch of metal washers & such,but noise/contacts may be an issue.
Springs/tubing?

Whatcha got?

If you lower the selector switch into the body, then you won't be able to switch the bridge and the neck positions without widening the slot for it. If you really want to go for it for whatever reason, then metal washers will be fine. Depending on how deep you want to recess it, you might need longer screws for it.

Sounds like a cheap import switch. The stems on those are usually longer. Get an American made CRL switch and it'll have a shorter stem on it.

It's a DiM switch,got it brand new from teh Karma Thread...

I'll have to dig out the parts box & see if I have any kinda spacer-thingies...

You can just shim it with little pieces of metal. Lowering the switch makes it so you can't get it into positions 1 and 5, though. You can saw out the slot a little each way to get around that, but in the end, the difference in height will be so minor so as to not really make it worth doing (IMO). I'd just suggest possibly re-shaping the switch tip, or lowering it onto the switch lever a bit.
