LP Custom + Duncan Custom + 300k pot = happiness

I have been fighting the Custom Custom in my LP Custom and just could not get what I wanted. The CC is my favorite in just about every other LP I've owned but I could not get any low end to save my ass. I put in a Custom and there was the low end but the top had way too much fizz for me. I had a 300k pot lying around and just for grins I put it in and the rock angels began to sing. So far it seems perfect.

This is a great mod I use to cut resopnant peak. I've done this with great success on SGs (because the bridge p'up is so close to the bridge) and my R7 that was overly bright. It's a great way to dial things in. Even if I'm using all 500k pots in my Gibbo guitars I make a point to measure them and put the lower rated pots in the bridge position.

I'm partial to something similar, a LP with a C5 & 250K pots. A little more sparkle & personality than a ceramic magnet can give.

Take a A8 in the CC or Custom. You get the A2 highs, even more mids and a tight bass and you can use 500k in order to get more volume than with the 300k. My .02
