LP vs Strat hang

So I love everything about my LP except for the way it hangs. Instead of the neck being angled up to play easier it wants to hang with the neck lower than the body. I like how my strat naturally hangs angled up some to make it easier to play. How can I make my LP do this?

Re: LP vs Strat hang

Only thing I can think of is to drill another hole for the strap button a few inches further up the body. No idea how you could fill in the other hole invisibly short of redoing the gloss in that area. And I imagine that would be very difficult to keep consistent with the rest of the guitar.

Re: LP vs Strat hang

Get a wide rough-ish leather strap, position the guitar where you want, and it should stay put.

Re: LP vs Strat hang

I use a wide leather strap (2.5 inches). It stays put. I'd recommend investing in some sort of strap lock type system though, because it puts alot of the wieght on just the top button.

The LP is neck heavy???? That's a first for me...

It's not that it's neck heavy, but because of the shape, it doesn't sit the same as a Strat (it likes to sit more level, instead of angled up). If you're not used to a Strat, it's probably not a big deal, but if you are (like myself) you try and find a way to keep that neck angled up more.

Weird...I always found LP's to naturally come up at a 45 degree angle on me, and I loved it.
