LTD Elite line announced!

Re: LTD Elite line announced!

I think it's awesome they brought the Edwards Snapper over to the rest of the world. As far as abalone goes, I don't mind some classy inlays, but for the most part, I prefer looking at it in its natural state, and that says quite a bit.

Well, from what I've read, it's really a regulation thing. You can say something is made in a certain country as long as X% of it was made there, or X% of it was assembled there, etc. From what I understand the basic assembly of Edwards guitars is done in China, and the finishing, final fit, setup, wiring and so forth is done in Japan. So they can get away with saying it's MIJ when it's not 100% MIJ, it's actually X% MIC and Y% MIJ.

Re: LTD Elite line announced!

Last time I checked the bodies and necks were built in China or sth like that, I do believe that final assembly was done in Japan, I guess the word "Made" is a little loosely used in this case...

EDIT:Ah, I didn't see that tc had beaten me to it :9:

Back to the Elite discussion. These models will retail as much as the current ESP Standard models (according to my dealer), the current gripe with fans is that, for that kinda money, it's still an 'LTD'. Seriously, it's rather damaging to have the headstock saying 'LTD' & the fretboard marker saying 'ESP'.

Do expect a hardcase in the price package. ESP has one more announcement pertaining to a new product range which won't happen soon. But it will come.

I have seen these and they do look appealing but I have to wonder how much better they really will be ...say above my ec 1000. id almost rather save the bucks and just get a real eclipse.

The Elites are made by the ESP people, the current LTDs have no ESP handling.
