LTD vs. generic case

i need a case for my LTD viper, but im not sure what would be better- spending $120 on the official form fitted LTD case, or getting a generic case for cheaper, like $80 or so. what do you guys reccomend?

I bought a GATOR universal hardshell case for my Schecter Omen 7 and saved around $40 for pretty much the exact same case as the factory one! Go cheap on the case and spend more on the guitar! SKB also makes good quality cheap cases. I prefer those new black plastic shell cases over the old style heavy wood tolex jobs. The hardware on those seem to tarnish out or get all bent up. Sometimes after heavy use, the screws get stripped and the case doesn't close properly.

i found an esp viper case for $60 at music123, good enough for me

If you're not taking the guitar on the road, a decent hardshell case will suffice; it doesn't have to be too extreme ...

Musicians Friend is having a sale on hardshell cases for 40 bucks right now. I bought one for my acoustic and its pretty damn good.
