Do you know know which pickups (on Ibz s470) Luke hoskin uses from Protest the hero uses?

If you are experienced pickup user, which P/u's are great to metal? Top 10 or so

Thanx y'all

Mike

Looks like a Crunch Lab in the Bridge ... not sure about the Middle or Neck. I have seen some pics where it looks like he might use a Parallel Axis in the neck, but those pics were a slight bit blurry.

As far as best pickups for metal ... that's like asking what are the top ten meals to eat. Everyone is going to have a different opinion.

Thanx man... I got Ibanez RGA220z. Active pickups that came with it aren't for me. LoZ4's in a way sounds ok, but I heard Randy Rode Seymore Duncan designs and Di marzio D-activator, evo 1 'n' 2, and I got myself single coil super distortion T and they sound way more than the LoZ4's. I guess I'm accustomed with the passive p/u's.
There must be great active p/u's out there.

I love to hear everybody's taste. And ready to be convinced.

Thanx again... This site rules. You know like minded. I live in a very closed country, mobility-wise. :)

Re: Luke Hoskin's pickups on Ibanez s470

Hey, just came upon this thread, I know it's an old one but I thought I could shed some light.....

Luke has many Ibanez guitars among others and his arrangements with them allow him to order whatever pickups he want in a particular model; I can say for sure, none of them are stock Ibanez pickups.

Most of his ibanez S-series guitars use a Duncan sh-5 (Custom) bridge and a Duncan sh-2 (Jazz) neck.

His last couple of Ibanez S-Series guitars sent to him in mid 2012 have some dimarzios in'em for a change and If I can remember correctly they are a super distortion in the bridge and an Air Nortin in the neck - these guitars are yet to be toured with and are currently not on any of the bands recordings.

Previously, he had used Duncan JB's, Custom Distortions and EMG 81's (ESP Guitars) in the bridge and Duncan 59 or EMG 85 (ESP Guitars) in the neck positions over the last 6-7 years, settling on what he has now in just about every guitar.

Depending on the album, I can probably tell ya what pickup in which guitar on whatever track you are hearing if you were interested further.

Cheers
