Machine Gun Univibe pedal

Hey there,
How is it possible that there are so many univibe pedals in the market, they all sound different from one another and none of them give you that badass lush tone that good ol' Jimi got in Machine Gun in "Live at Fillmore East"? I've tried quite a few pedals but I've been unsuccessful. My latest attempt was with the Sweet Tone Mofaux vibe. It doesn't even come close. My mxr phase 90 does a better job! Any tips? Machine Gun, Live at Fillmore East, guys

Univibes interact heavily with whatever distortion you have in after it. Do you have your univibe pre or post fuzz?

i really like the deja vibe. im in the market for a univibe and recently spent way too long trying everything in the store, which is well stocked. jhs, mxr, tc, fulltone, dunlop, eqd, moen, keeley, wampler, and others i cant recall. i literally tried every vibe they had in the store. the deja vibe was the best. until the guy handed me a jam pedals retrovibe. now thats the one i need, i just havent coughed up the $420 for it yet. one of my amp tech buddies who has two real univibes, uses the retrovibe for gigs so he doesnt have to deal with the vintage units. i had no idea until after i tried the one in the store and he came to see a gig of mine and we got chatting. its the best ive heard, most i tried werent worth shit. if i hadnt tried the retrovibe, the deja vibe would work fine

Honestly, I don't have much experience with a Univibe...I had no idea that it goes before the fuzz.
