So the old Onyx 400F is on special at my local music store for 299 vs getting the Focusrite for 270 including shipping from the states?? Which one? Why?

Onyx 400F is cool but has zero expandability - no ADAT ports. If you'll never need to record more than the onboard inputs with it, then you're fine, but I'd go over that channel count with a drumkit in a heartbeat.

As the shop Allans Music used to sell it for way over 1000 and the fact it has 4 mic preamps prompted me to put it on Layby. By the time I can afford enough mics to mic a whole band I will have enough money for a different interface and could probably sell it without losing to much money. Anyone used Onyx products and can comment on the Preamps?
