"Made in the USA"

I have at least a passing interest in the Hardwire Supernatural Ambient Reverb.

The medium to long plate reverb setting sounds good and could easily replace most of what I use delay for .... just adding an ambient trail ... and with the added benefit of eliminating that little hint of percussiveness on the front of each repeat.

I looked around to compare prices and it seems that the HSAR is exclusive to ProGuitarShop.com.

I have read rumors on the net by some who suggest that the unit may just be a Hardwire RV-7 that is repainted and modified by PGS.com.

To be honest, one of the reasons I am interested in that particular reverb is the (I believe) fact that it is made in the USA. I think (Neils could help here) that the whole Hardwaire line was manufactured in the US at one time.

Anyway, I have nothing but high regard for the guys at PGS.com but have to admit that the regulations concerning the requirements for a valid "Made in the USA" claim/label are a bit vague.

Does anyone own one of these reverbs? Does anyone know how it is technically different from the standard unit?

Some will say If you like the sound buy it ... what difference does it make?

Well, I guess there's a little snob in me.

I don't think I own any gear aside from my old pod that wasn't made in the US.

I have a Maxon AD-999 delay on my board and I have no idea where it was made. Also, I have no doubt that great products are made all over the world.

It's just that if I were to "invest" in a Hardwire reverb I would want to do so before the manufacturing moves abroad and would like to know that components comprising the circuit are primarily manufactured in the US (if that is even possible) and that the unit is assembled here.

i have one...it's not a "Black" RV-7...it's got it's own thing.

Can you get some decent ambience while preserving most of your dry signal?

i've never really tried it like that...i'll have to get back to you on it. i'm gone for the weekend though...but i'll give it a try on Monday.

With the both Holy Grail and Line 6 reverbs I've owned the original signal seems to "move to the back" rather quickly. I like the Hall sound best on the Verbzilla, and the Spring on the Holy Grail, but I think I might prefer the Plate sound on this one best of all.

At least give the Hall of Fame a shot. It's such a great pedal. I don't know if it gets into the quality you usually have, Robert, but it really does sound phenomenal. It was enough to get me to play clean again, and that's saying a lot.

I might try one. On second thought, I'm trying to maintain my financial focus. Even with the imminent 40' of fence replacement my Mission kit may only be two weeks out.

Awesome! Please keep me posted. I need some vicarious entertainment. I've been putting off drilling a hole in the front of my chassis for about two months now. I finally had a chance this weekend, and I wasted it. Weekend's not over, though...

I was considering posting about the Wet yesterday too. Just got a Stereo Wet, and it's amazing. Can have a huge ambiance without burying your notes. I'm using mine solely for creating pads and swells, though.
