This thing is so damn much fun!!! I have to admit that right now Im pretty bad at it, and it's kind of a pain in the ass to set up, but I dig it! After I get the hang of it a little better I might get one of those "in line" units from Rocktron!

I copied my buddie's Heil unit back in 93 and it's on "JD Sleep's" Effects website...I never use mine,but I built it and it's every bit as good as my buddie's Heil unit...I actually bought the Heil(Dunlop)tubing and the metal piece that the tubing attaches to for mine....

Do you guys run the mic into another guitar amp or what? Can you run the Heil "inline"? So far this is cool, but it doesn't work like I think it should, and Im not sure if it is the actual talk box or the fact that Im not any good with it yet!? :smack:

i've wanted a talk box for the longest time since the one i had back in the day broke. what good ones are out there...inline and ones that use a second amp? also, which is better of the two?

Im pretty sure that the Hiel has to be used with a second amp and then at least a small PA for the mic...Rocktron has one that you just put inline with your other FX then the mic goes to the PA...Im gonna try to get some more details soon...

Dude...it's a jumbled mess of crap right now! I have to work it out a little better and see if I can make it work better...if not I'm just gonna buy one, and if so Im gonna make some kind of cab for it. I started to just buy one taday, but I've never really used one and due to the fact that you have to put part of it in your mouth you can not return them at all, unless it si broken, so I figured that the DIY route would do for now.

If you want to try it PM me and I'll tell you how to do it all.

I always loved it when Slash used one of those. Very intriguing and interesting effect. Have fun man.

I use the Heil with my HRDx only. Just for practicing in my room it's loud enough to hear but of course for a gig you would need a mic to put it through to the pa. I have found that for me it's not so much how you shape the front of your mouth, it's getting your throat to shape the same way as if you were talking regular, just for me though. I listen to Frampton do it and he says things on there that just sound like hdidehhewuihueeud when I say it.
