Magnet storage idea

I wasn't sure whether to post this in here or tips and clips, so I chose here. Anyhow, I recently got tired of having magnets all over wrapped in foam or bubble wrap, cardboard or whatever trying to keep them apart and not sticking to everything. So, I came up with an idea that separates them, takes up less space and helps me keep a better inventory of what I have, so I thought Id share in case someone else may find use.

Its real simple.. I just took a couple pieces of thin cardboard (poster board would be ideal). I cut slots in it to slip the magnet ends in. put the magnets in and then put them in , labeled as needed and put them in notebook sheet protectors . I then just put a plain piece of cardboard in a sheet protector as a page in between to keep em from sticking together. So I can keep em flat, well laid out in a 3 ring binder.

The one with tape was shorter than the others.. haha

Anyone else have any storage tips?

That's cool, but I thought magnets needed a "keeper". That's why I keep mine on the side of the file cab.

I just put them on my fridge. I have about 4 up there right now and about 3 in the guitar room for some swapping fun. The only problem is having to rearrange what's on the fridge whenever I want a magnet since they're usually holding something on there.

Yeah mine are on my furnace (silly fridge has a stainless door thats non magnetic) never felt it was insufficient.

If you don't want to use them to hang something on your fridge, put them on the top of the fridge where they are out of the way. That's where my pack rat place is for everything since my wife is short enough she can't see up there:nana::nana:

Hmm, the top of my fridge has more crap on it than the front or sides!

Damn Bro.... You NEVER cease to amaze me with your brilliance!! Best idea yet!! I wish I could leave well enough alone, but I cant.. So had to find plan b.
As for the rest of you. My wife would go nuts if I did that. only magnets on the fridge have to be pretty/decorative. GuitarSquirell, LOL!!! Thats funny!! My wife has OCD, so she is on a chair cleaning/dusting the top of the fridge regularly.
Well, with what you all responded, that answers a question I always had about guitar mags.. I assumed it wasnt good for them or may demagnatize em to stick them together or onto something else.. part of why I had them wrapped so thickly when I had em in my tool/parts container. So they wouldnt stick together or stick to everything else. I thought it would weaken them or if you had two different types together, may mess up their characteristics..

Cool idea and good for someone who likes to be organized. I would like to think mine are organized but they are still lying around the apartment in the box they where shipped in.
