Magnet swap on a BlackWinter Neck pickup

Hello,
A friend gave me a disassembled blackwinter neck p/u without baseplate (don't ask why he does that lol ),
I was surprised by the fact that this little beast come with two magnets :), and also the thickness of these magnets .

Does someone try something more conventionnal on this pickup, like a standard 2 /3 mm thick ceramic or alnico V bar?

I have seen topics about the bridge pickup but not the neck .

Thank you

Very good idea to swap mags to drop the heat of the neck. 13k and 3 double thick ceramics is unnecessary. Simply change to regular thickness ceramic or try an alnico.

Thank you , this pickup will be paired with a jackson j90C in the bridge ,
I put the main thick magnet of the black winter into the j90C .And I will put the standard ceramic mag of the jackson on the bw when I will receive the new base plate :), this will surely be nice I think .
Should I order a brass or nickel silver plate for the BW?

I would've thought so as well, but the way it is, it balances *perfectly* with the bridge Black Winter, which is a monster.

if it was me, silver for sure. brass will darken things which i sure dont want in the neck.

Yes I think the same for a standard neck humbucker like 7k Ohms and alnico 5 , but for 13k and a ceramic mag I was thinking that reducing a little the highs should be good :)

^ Did the Black Winters blow out ur amp? Should put them in series :P
No, but funny fact is the BW-B does have more juice than what my HX Stomp's input can handle. Even if I enable the pad, the BW-bridge makes it clip. I had to get one of those lousy Boss TU-3's with the half-assed buffer so that it compressed the highest peaks before so that my HX Stomp could handle it.

But in all fairness, all the 500T, X2N, Hot Rails Tele, and Black Winter did that to the HX Stomp. So yes, the Black Winter is a monster, but the HX Stomp's headroom is pretty lousy too.
