Walked into the local guitar shop and there it was...

shinning like some little satanic beacon of love.....

It was calling my name, I heard it from the highway.

$1400 is a little steep though, $800 and it's mine. Maybe I'll do a layaway

Re: Major GAS attack!!!!!

Looks nice, not really my style but if it plays great that thing sure is a keeper...

Re: Major GAS attack!!!!!

Yeah, you don't see those come up used very often, so you may have to spring for the new one at the deepest discount possible. The Malcolm Young signature?

If I had a rhythm guitarist playing with me, I'd DEMAND that he uses that guitar.
That tone, as you know, mixed with any Gibson is pure BALLS!

Re: Major GAS attack!!!!!

Man . . . I love that thing. But now, having seen it, it doesn't seem like it would be that hard to duplicate it. Wouldn't have the "collector" value, but would still have the sound, and perhaps the "mojo". :)

Re: Major GAS attack!!!!!

Stay tuned to your local GAS station for more news in the next 24-48 hours. I was only threatened with a slight thinning of the herd if a new one showed up. I might be able to handle that we'll see.

They do play and sound wonderful and you rarely see them come up used though they do from time to time. Had a chance to score one about 3 years ago for a song and I choked, regretted that ever since.

I have been hemming and hawwing over various Gretsches for years now, I love them but I never can grasp the pricetag, argghh. In case you don't know I am a huge AC/DC fan and Malcolm in particular has been a huge influence on me. I've no issue showing respect playing one of these at all.

I was actually looking for a Firebird, oh well next year on the 'bird I guess.
