Am I crazy, or is this the most AWESOME thing on the planet. I'm in love with it!

This has me seriously considering selling off my ESP and picking one of these babies up.

Opinions anyone?

You know, the only thing I don't like about Deans is that headstock. It's stopped me from buying a Cadillac once or twice. That's a nice guitar otherwise though. I guess the headstock fits with that body more too.

Dunno man, for what it's aiming at it sure is a looker but what about how it sounds?

That will always be what'll stop me from buying a guitar any other way than playing that specific axe beforehand.

In general I find Dean's "mahogany" to be better quality than many other Korean manufacturer's...ESP/LTD , Ibanez, and Epiphone in particular. Rarely are the Dean guitars that heavy (i.e. its dried out well), and most of them sound nice if not really nice ..especially considering the (lack of) cost.

Epis/Ibby/LTD tend to have really heavy bodies and are dead as a doornail more often than not. I'd worry more about them sight unseen than a MIK Dean (all 3 of my MIK MLs were bought sight unseen and all had nice sounding pieces of wood, my first one was a real brute tonally).

Hey Zippy- Fellow local here, wanna taste of Dean, head over to Music City on 118th Ave. N. just east off 49th St. it is on the NW corner of 46th and 118th. Give them a call to check the exact hours 572.5500 they got a funky schedule. You will be AMAZED at Jody's prices and you might not need to sell your ESP after all. He doesn't have these Purple ones but he has some great stuff, very nicely priced for us locals. You do also know Dean is a Bay Area company hq'ed in Tampa now right? :13::approve:

Wow I thought I had been to ALL the music stores around here! I'll definitely check that out! Yeah I did know Dean was HQ'd in Tampa actually. They have LOADS of them at Legends Guitars over in Tampa and the guy there was telling me about it. (if you haven't been there, it's an *awesome* place if you are looking for a Gibson or sometimes high end Jacksons or Deans)

I know all the guys at Legends. Bill, Beau, and owner, Kent are great people. I've bought a couple guitars out of there. Their head guitar tech is Ben Chafin, former builder/designer for Dean and owner of Chafin guitars http://www.chafincustom.com another great Tampa Bay guitar maker.

Yeah - I remember seeing that! I think those inlays make the guitar! The three gold bricks don't hurt either....

Zippy, I say you should instatlt become glossed as a Hispurplebadnessologist if you buy that! Then have me down so I can play it. I'm in safety Harbor!

Just to add my .02... I bought one from same dealer a month ago 8/27 and the shipment of them has not come yet. Im still waiting...

Oops,nevermind.Love that inlay color!!!

I don't mind the headstocks at all,& I did buy a Caddy,albeit a MIK.
Those big-ass pointy cases can be a PITA,when you've got close quarters...

Haha.. you don't have to tell me twice about the huge cases, I DO have a Jackson Warrior after all. The thing's a weapon!

Nice caddy, btw. Looking at all these Deans has given me some BIG Dean GAS... not just purple ML GAS. hah

Why not purple ML gas?? That axe is amazing looking!! Thats why I jumped on one. Plus, Ive been assured by many that it'll be amazing playing too..

I mean I've been seeing alot of good looking Deans after looking for information about this one. Not *just* this one. Get me?
