Re: major problem help !!

Was there any trouble with the electronics in the guitar before you had the pickups put in? I know it's a common sense question but i thought i'd ask the history.... My Epis had all sorts of electronic problems and i disconnected the pots and switchs and wired the rear humbucker straight to a new pot and to the jack.... cleared up a lot of noise...... the pots, switchs and wire in most Epi's is cheap junk and give trouble....

On the other hand the tech at the store should know what he is doing and should be able to find the source, but not all techs are good electronic techs.... I've been having some noise issues myself with a set of 59's that no one can explain... I had a friend do some work on the PU and i'm hoping it is fixed.... just need to install it and see if it is still noisey..... Fingers crossed.....

Re: major problem help !!

The most likely culprit is overheating a pot when they installed it, causing havoc. I'm sure the pickups are fine. When you look at the inside, make sure the blacks are going to a lug, the green/silver is on the backs of the pots, and the red/white are soldered and taped together.
