Making a pickguard for my Avalanche 7

I traced different parts of a strat pickguard and pieced them together for a template. Now i just need to decide if i want to just make a router template and cut it myself or send it to someone and let them do it.

I'm thinking black with cream bobbin toppers and knobs.

Me too, but it would require pulling the strings every time i want to work on it.

I always change strings when working on a start-style wiring harness, so don't really think about keeping strings on - I can see how that would make the "full-size" guard impractical for you - though, how often do you intend to work on it once it's done?

Oh, and to your original post, I like the idea of a black guard - but I'm not seeing cream/parchment knobs. Actually, the knobs you already have on there could look good as they are? Or maybe chrome or nickel?

Look forward to seeing the end result.

Im always messing with different pickups, and the elixirs last 6 months if i keep them clean.

I've considered painting the body black and using chrome pup covers.

After thinking about it for a few hours, I'm probably going to put my other paf 7 in the middle position

Re: Making a pickguard for my Avalanche 7

So i made a temporary pickguard using the template I'm sending off to get the real one made. It now has a Pegasus in the bridge and 2 PAF7's and bobbin toppers.

Nice job you did on the guitar with the 3 pickups. It looks real good. Now you can rock that thing until your heart's desire.;)
