Making black trembucker white?

Hi, I put an old JB I had lying around in my Fender Strat. The problem is, it's black and my strat is arctic white. So it doen't look "right". Is there any way I can make it white? I know there are stickers for this kind of purpose, but they don't come in trembucker spacing, only in standard Duncan & Dimarzio spacing and Dimarzio F-spacing (Duncan TB's have longer bobbins). Any other suggestions how to make this pickup white?

Trade it for a white one? You can paint it but it will eventually start to scratch and flake and its hard to get the white even enough that it looks white white...not black tinted white. If it was me i would be tempted to just put a nickel cover on it.

Re: Making black trembucker white?

is it HSS? Why not putting all black controls and single coil covers? I think black plastics on white pickguard looks killer and even better on white body, I do that from time to time when I need to swap some bridge pickups myself.

Edit: Now I realize the guy with the Adrian avatar is haing a conversarion with the guy with Dave avatar.

Because my Jackson Adrian Smith already has black pickups :) I'd like this one to look like the one Dave Murray is photograped with in the 'A real live one' booklet. I think I solved it. I ordered some trembucker-spaced white bobbin toppers from universaljems.com.

Give us feedback when you installed them. I'm in the same position.

I used appliance epoxy paint once. It is tough and worked pretty well.

Re: Making black trembucker white?

There is no good way to make it white. I'd sell it and use the money toward a new or used white one.

You can paint it white, use white out, get these covers, etc...but really the best thing, IMO, would be to sell it and get a white one.
