Man, those Edwards LP's/335's sure are tempting

Re: Man, those Edwards LP's/335's sure are tempting

this thread has me reconsidering how i would use the proceeds from selling the roadster .. instead of putting some MORE cake into the pot and getting a fuchs ods 30 slx combo, maybe i could make do with a lesseramp and use some of the residual proceeds to do an edwards cherry sunburst LP ...

Re: Man, those Edwards LP's/335's sure are tempting

That's an error on the website.
E-LP-98LTC:

E = Edwards
LP = Les Paul
98 = Model specification (trim level)
LT = "Lacquer Taste" finish
C = "Custom"

?

Just one thing to add to that

The 98 denotes the suggested retail price in Yen.
98,000yen.

So you will see older models that look exactly the same and have the same features. But, a different yen price.

Example my Edwards Sykes was called the E-LP85CD-JS in 2006.
In 2007 ESP increased prices.
So, the same guitar is now called the E=LP92CD-JS.

I would suggest buying soon.
As prices are to rise again.
Tokai has already increased theirs twice.
ESP is soon to follow.
Something to do with some new Japan tax to businesses.

Hey, thanks! I was wondering what that number actually meant.

I did notice that the numbers went up right before I bought my LPC, but I didn't have to pay any more to Ishibashi.

Re: Man, those Edwards LP's/335's sure are tempting

I sent off a couple emails to Katana Guitars this weekend regarding the gold top P-90. Haven't heard anything yet, so I have no idea if it's in stock. I still need a little more cash before I can pull the trigger on it, so waiting a bit isn't that big a deal.

Speaking of which…Anyone need a nice Guild acoustic with Fishman pickup? :)

Jeez...Still haven't heard back from Katana Guitars about that gold top P-90. I guess I'll just go with Ishibashi.

BTW, anyone know about the reputation of this dealer?

Ishibashi won't let you down. Their customer service was top-notch when I dealt with them.

When you go to their website, click the "In English" link and send to the email address on the subsequent page.

hmm..sorry to hear that. Tak has always emailed me back within 24 hours or so when I had a question.

Re: Man, those Edwards LP's/335's sure are tempting

I've been on the fence about getting an Edwards 335 for a while now. Most recently it's come down pretty much to that, Tokai or Epi Elitist. And speaking of Tokai, does anyone know somewhere you can order Tokai 335s from in the US? I know I can get an Edwards from Ishibashi but they don't sell Tokais anymore.

I had my eye on this Tokai 335, but it sold already. It's the exact color I want and they seem to be the only ones other than Gibson to have it.

I think it's fair to say that the definitive word of Japanese quality has got to be the Navigator brand (also produced by ESP), but, at about the same cost as a Gibson Historic, it's what you should expect. :)

I love my Jap Pauls. Here's my two Edwards and my Burny with Floyd Rose and Sustainer......

Something doesn't look right about a Paul with a tremolo. Nonetheless, that's a gorgeous trio! I was going to say I'm particularly fond of the cream one, but after looking at them again, they're all so beautiful.

I like the Burny with the Floyd. I've had a thing for Floyded Pauls ever since I saw a Fernandes White LP Custom copy with a Floyd and a Sustainer.

Re: Man, those Edwards LP's/335's sure are tempting

Edwards guitars look **** fine, and they are supposed to be of good quality... really jonesing on some of the Edwards LPs I've seen. But I'm going to try out a bunch of different set neck guitars before I consider ordering from Japan. I'm just not too keen on the types of materials that go into Epi LPs...
