tho back when i first bought my strat i was into rosewood i much later sat down with a telecaster and "explored" the tone of a maple neck and now i wish i had a maple neck :smack: i love a maple neck on a strat or especialy on telecaster, a tele with a rosewood fretboard just doesnt sound right to me :P

I stil like how my strat sounds and i dont think id change it but now im forced get a maple strat to satisfy my maple envi lol.. or actualy im craving a tele lately..

I first had a Rosewood neck, and preferred everything abot it. Feel, tone, looks, everything. Then, after watching Iron Maiden's Rock In Rio for perhaps the 128th time, it hit me that I needed a sunburst Strat with a maple neck (avatar).

After 2 minutes with it, I just adored it, and now worship all things maple (Feel, tone, look, everything).

Isn´t this like, the most wrong forum possible for this question? I don´s see what Maple/RW has to do with technique or clips.... :rolleyes:

Also a nice neck/fingerboard wood to play on and it does carry the tone well.

i prefer rosewood given a choice between the two. NOt syaing maple is bad i would lvoe to own a maple fretboard guitar one day. But i prefer rosewood as of now, ebony and maple i think tie with each other, they both have similiar sound to me at leats they just look different.

Also the darker the wood the less ugly it getsd when its dirty. I never realized but after not cleaning my rosewood fretboard when i changed the strings tonight i looked at it at an angle in the light and low and behold there was ALOT of gunk there. I cleaned it up, but with maple it WILL show theres no hiding it for three years with maple haha.

I prefer the sound of maple but the look of a darker wood....I seem to get distracted on a lighter colored fretboard.....so for tone I'd go maple.

Single Coil -Maple

If had to pick one though Maple, just looks bad ass. Especially when you have a black Tele with a Black/White/Black Pickguard.

I can't pick one. I have 2 Teles... one with RW and one with maple. I have 3 Strats 2 with maple one with RW. I really play them all. But if I had to pick just one I would probably go with my black EC Strat which is maple.

I like both the tone of rosewood and maple, but prefer maple a bit more. Its just a brighter and better tone-wood for my purposes.

Hmmmm!?! Let's see. Do I prefer blondes or brunettes?!? Well, is she willing to play? Can I run my fingers from one end to the other and do my caresses make her sigh? I do so love the blonde, but always seem to come home to the brunette....:bigthumb:

i love my birdseye maple on my carvin. its so smooth and so much easier to play than the rosewood ive got on my lp.
